Reunited

In the quiet moments of our reunion,
I felt the weight of every unsaid word,
Every tear that fell in the silence of the night.
Your eyes, once filled with sorrow, now held a glimmer of hope,
A testament to the strength you found within.

As we stood there, two souls reconnecting,
I realized that courage isn’t just in the grand gestures,
But in the small, honest confessions,
In the willingness to face the past and embrace the future.

So here we are, on the cusp of a new beginning,
With hearts that have been broken and mended,
With a love that has been tested and endured.
And as we take this step forward,
I promise to cherish you, to never let fear dictate my actions again.

September 8th was a night and day full of fear and courage.
Fear of hurting and getting hurt.
Courage to finish a full marathon.
Courage to finally say all the things that I’ve been keeping to myself since our breakup.
Fear of seeing you hurt and in pain all over again.

For in this reunion, I found not just you,
But a part of myself that I had lost along the way.
And together, we will write a new story,
One of love, resilience, and unwavering courage.

Author's Note
I can’t seem to get over the fact that you, a person I truly cherished, was endlessly hurt by me.
And now you courageously told me that you are doing okay and well from the tearful months I’ve made you go through.
And I courageously told you how I wanted you back, how I am sorry for being scared and choosing to leave the “us” we worked so hard to build.
