Origins

indecision troubles me
multifaceted like all of us
given the situation my soul has choices
avoiding the dark stuff

I try to see the light in others eyes
and if there's none
I'm not afraid I still see some value in them

I've come to calm your ire
meet with me with a sacrifice of self
your grief and emptiness flood my senses
my tears to cleanse you not of your darkness
but your guilt

we are made of flesh and blood
your soul is confused if you think you're the problem
secrets of rusted pennies
sent down a wishing well

dwelling on your pain will expand it
your soul bleeds with it
now I can talk to you
I won't bother with a facade
macabre with my portrayal of myself is acutely me

my relationship with the immortal is not your worry
we each interact uniquely
you have help and fate to guide you

I've looked into the deep dark
and it stared into me
collecting their due

guarded and loved the dark says
I am their missing child
but I like it here I don't want to go back
they say I'm meddling where I ought not

all forms of life fascinate me
I cannot stand back when I can help
unscramble the verses
and see we each fit differently
anger is my friend but controlling it is growth
sideways smiles tell me something about you
and I like it

if I didn't consider your dead lights
I would be missing the bigger picture
seduce the space pirate
without letting him get to your bounty
money is worthless without knowledge
and power is something I don't want to yield

my bounty is my soul and feelings
each of them being unique and exquisite
the deep dark is apparently where I am from
the beings there are neither good nor bad
just different I've reached in and they seem a bit detached

I guess they sent me here as a punishment
but I really love the place
the freedom of it
and the feelings that flood me are wonderful
even the sense of dread I sometimes feel

they don't understand our emotions
and consider themselves royalty
and I point out that ancient doesn't mean superior
and that  doesn't quantify as royalty
I mean what happened one of you put on a hat and said I'm the king

you seem to have your hands here causing carnage
and I may share your origins but I don't share your morals
