The Knelling Shade

That old Janus face of hostility
is the flip side of stupidity too,
ever consummated by what they do
in their sabotage of civility
when all their eyes for eyes are long foregone.

The providential eye was first to go
and with it whatever heaven might know
to tell us of hell, either pro or con.

Thusly survivors are blind evermore
past the threshold abandonment of hope
where ye who enter with deficient scope
will never see the scoreboard for the score.

Forgive them, for they know not what they do
in their mad rush to dehumanize you.
