Of The Bowels of the Earth
Beneath the stones where silence keeps
In ancient vaults where daylight sleeps
There stirs a breath, a whispered wail
A shiver cold, a visage pale
The earth doth groan in muffled sighs
As something wakes with hollow eyes
A creeping dread, a blackened tide
That stirs the bones of those who died
It slithers slow through cracks unseen
A shadow cast on shadow's sheen
The touch of night, the cold embrace
Of spectres lost to time and space
Eldritch whispers claw the mind
Like chimes of chains, both faint and blind
With tendrils dark and venom sweet
It wraps around with ghostly feet
The air grows thick with noxious sighs
As shades emerge from unseen ties
Pale wraiths of old with hollow gaze
That haunt the depths of cavern's maze
Their forms are lost to time’s cruel hand
Yet linger still in shadowed land
Their voices soft, like mournful cries
Of fallen stars and darkened skies
Through fissures deep and riven stone
The nameless dread doth find its home
It crawls and coils, unseen, unknown
A sovereign dark upon its throne
No sunlight warms its cold domain
No angel's hymn can soothe the pain
For in the bowels of earth's embrace
There lies a thing without a face
The walls, they weep with ancient blight
As darkness blooms, devours light
It calls to those who dare to tread
To taste the dreams of long-lost dead
With every step, the shadows grow
And murmur secrets none should know
Of kings accursed and rites profane
Of chasms deep and endless bane
The spectres writhe, the phantoms leer,
In endless dance of woe and fear
They stretch and grasp with hands of night
To drag thee down from heaven’s sight
No prayer can still the creeping dread
Nor cleanse the dark where angels bled
For in the bowels, deep and far
Lies something darker than the star
So tread ye light where shadows creep
Where ancient gods in silence sleep
For in the earth’s cold, hungry maw
Awaits the night with gaping jaw
Beware the gloom, the lurking black
The creeping dread that whispers back
For in the depths, where light is none
The end begins, and all is done
In ancient vaults where daylight sleeps
There stirs a breath, a whispered wail
A shiver cold, a visage pale
The earth doth groan in muffled sighs
As something wakes with hollow eyes
A creeping dread, a blackened tide
That stirs the bones of those who died
It slithers slow through cracks unseen
A shadow cast on shadow's sheen
The touch of night, the cold embrace
