Acheron
"Take my hand, lost one,
make haste for the ground.
Why do you keep looking back?
This is no place to wander around"
Endless darkness, venomous air
I hear spirits moan, lightning flare
The only good I feel
Is the warmth of her hand and care
She says her name is Acheron
And this is the river Lethe
She's to guide me through,
To show the God's mercy
"What's there on the shore?" I asked
"A new life, for sure." She replied,
"You'll be spared
from the pain cannot be bared"
"What if I refuse?" I said,
"I don't want a new life
It's my memory I choose."
I saw her hairs turned white
And her figure glowed light
Eyes like the crimson stars
A gentle smile on her face bright
"I understand," she said
"But mind you, my friend,
Thus you will be, too, a spirit moaning
Up until the time's end"
I nodded with a smile
Instantly all my life flashed before my eyes:
My childhood, my first bike
my first kiss in the moonlight
my sorrow, my delight
all my loved ones passed me by
For a moment she stood
Then I saw her drew a red sword
Eyes shedding blood, a whisper slow:
"I weep for the departed"
then
a blow...
