Wolves and Priests
This night of savage beasts
Prayers uttered by fearful priests
Send for my matchlock gun
Wish to see the new days sun
Hide pierced by neither spear or swords
Grant me arms of heaven's hordes
Silver shot under Marian hoods
Hunting evil deep in the woods
Godsent man bless my arms
Wer hides I wish to harm
Fear has stalled the daily works
For what in the shadow lurks
A trace of blood in its cruel path
A pain inflicted by God's wrath?
While consternation spread
Every other bloodshed
Too many innocent slain
Done with an inhuman disdain
Wolves wearing man skin
Yet neither friend nor kin
This shan't be the norm
Terror from lupine forms
I make them fearful and alerted
Dens and covens deserted
Begone demon packs this night
Nightmares in my gun sights
In ichorous blood they drown
Finally exorcised and put down
Routed by arquebus elan
I see wolfish forms now as man
Revealed now in new Sun's rays
Yet there is still more to slay
Prayers uttered by fearful priests
Send for my matchlock gun
Wish to see the new days sun
Hide pierced by neither spear or swords
Grant me arms of heaven's hordes
Silver shot under Marian hoods
Hunting evil deep in the woods
Godsent man bless my arms
Wer hides I wish to harm
Fear has stalled the daily works
For what in the shadow lurks
A trace of blood in its cruel path
A pain inflicted by God's wrath?
While consternation spread
Every other bloodshed
Too many innocent slain
Done with an inhuman disdain
Wolves wearing man skin
Yet neither friend nor kin
This shan't be the norm
Terror from lupine forms
I make them fearful and alerted
Dens and covens deserted
Begone demon packs this night
Nightmares in my gun sights
In ichorous blood they drown
Finally exorcised and put down
Routed by arquebus elan
I see wolfish forms now as man
Revealed now in new Sun's rays
Yet there is still more to slay
