twin flames
swept into the corridors of your mind
I saw you shining inside your smile
entertaining ghosts of relationships passed
you were telling a story of love and love lost
I was held captivated
I knew therein would be the antidote for my craving
I covet your attention but I knew I couldn't compete with the beauty of these ladies
there was one particular lady whose radiance shone brightest
I could see the history there as she leaned in and you beamed
a very private moment that told me it wasn't over
you had high regard for this woman she let you be who you are
never trying to be the most important aspect of your life
it was an open-ended affair, when you could get together you did
she understood the world called
and she was only jealous enough for you to know she cared
she knew you were a man with many fascinations
you intrigued her which was rare for a lady as sharp as she was
she always found an honest way to feed your ego
she delighted in your happiness
she knew in time you would discover her again
when the sea was tired and washed you back to her port
then twin flames would share the wonders you'd discovered during your time apart
