caress

in my soulful needs, I'm reaching for you
oh god I can't take this pain
hurtful need and I look foolish
dressed in nothing but a blush
you look me up and down
I'm keening inside because I don't think you really see me

harboring the best of me down deep
do I dare bid you further in
deep within where I am her
the only her you need

grieving my doubts
I want a guarantee
you won't turn and run
my waters run deep
a lesser man would drown

I've tread water with you
talking about mundane things
but I felt a flicker of understanding in you
I swear I saw a twinkle in the eyes

going deeper to see if you follow
my dreams and intelligence
are hidden in the depths
I won't reveal my intellect with mortals
it draws too much attention

I would rather my light doesn't shine so brightly
I'm a misfit here already
a being of the universes exploring

I invite you in don't worry if things go south
you'll forget this encounter in time
I am rarely intrigued but your silence tells me a lot about you

I sit here and listen to your dreams
your dreams captivate me so I merge them with mine
dreaming ladies into being

too shy to present myself I give you what I imagine you would like
I swim into the shade and watch tentatively
I am happy when you approve
but more often than not they fail to show an intellect you can respect

you love a woman who is challenging behind the eyes
Beauty emerges from depths
I seduce your defences and we begin again
you invite me in for a heart to heart

you ask what I desire I answer a love of my own
I seek it with my soul but I always deny it's me men desire
leaving you dumbfounded and confused

I refuse anyone to pass further into the loneliness of the void
where I groom my taboo feelings and fantasies
they are growing lovely in time

they will be free to be sirens and mischief-makers
tempting men above what they can resist
