Daredevil

Sometimes you need to feel
A certain sense of near death
To experience adrenaline surreal
Before you exhale your next breath
You push your luck to the extreme
How far do you set your limits
Release that inner terrified scream
Your life can be over within minutes

I needed to check my emotions
To test my body soul and mind
Reality and fantasy interwoven
Searching for what I needed to find
Heart racing and blood flowing
Is there a pulse left in my body
Answers I have without knowing
Memories have grown so foggy

I see an inviting train track
Two hundred feet in the air
Over a ravine, no turning back
Into my soul I stare
Do I accept this challenge
My friends say just walk away
With the slightest imbalance
My life could end today

I walked out to the middle
And stepped over the railing
Searching for my lifes acquittal
And the lies I spent detailing
A story that I created
Of me or this so called version
Lie after lie was replicated
This truth was just a diversion

Hiding my fears with this facade
To show I'm strong and tough
An army of emotions was my squad
But eventually enough was enough
So I risk dangerous endeavors
Take shelter in adventures I revel
To feel alive I do so whenever
Living my life as a daredevil
