Melting Mind
I can feel my mind melting into a puddle
As I imagine a puddle sloshing
And spilling out my ears
In a gush like a breaking levee
Washing away all that scourges me
And eroding all that brought me joy
As my daydreams disappear one by one
Until I am plagued by the inescapable feeling
That I am but a shell of who I was
Only half the woman I used to be
Pieces lost in crossfire of youthful mistakes
Chaos so suavely conquering my heart
And twisting it up in knots
As I succumb to my doubt
And believe my pieces are too gone to be found again
And that I will forever feel that I am missing
As I imagine a puddle sloshing
And spilling out my ears
In a gush like a breaking levee
Washing away all that scourges me
And eroding all that brought me joy
As my daydreams disappear one by one
Until I am plagued by the inescapable feeling
That I am but a shell of who I was
Only half the woman I used to be
Pieces lost in crossfire of youthful mistakes
Chaos so suavely conquering my heart
And twisting it up in knots
As I succumb to my doubt
And believe my pieces are too gone to be found again
And that I will forever feel that I am missing
