I May Return Only When I Am No Longer The Entity I Used To Be
Deep into the night,
I crawl the wall of tears.
Gentle as a lone sunset,
unforgotten as a first kiss,
I hide away from myself for months
until suddenly I become unlocked,
a key turned like the swoosh of owl wings in the dead of night,
emotional tsunamis stirring as time splinters
like a mountain of earthquake-struck memories erupting into consciousness,
then steadily crumbling back into the swirling sea.
I crawl the wall of tears.
Gentle as a lone sunset,
unforgotten as a first kiss,
I hide away from myself for months
until suddenly I become unlocked,
a key turned like the swoosh of owl wings in the dead of night,
emotional tsunamis stirring as time splinters
like a mountain of earthquake-struck memories erupting into consciousness,
then steadily crumbling back into the swirling sea.
