A Different Light

https://tinyurl.com/4ztxcbhu

The moon and me we go way back
high fiving at four am
while shooting stars keep doing their thing
we're chilling in the moment loving everything

And for that moment I forget life's fickle winds
and quit my worrying over women's rights
dirty wars men make and wasted lives
of god's forsaken children

I see the world in a different light
where every wrong becomes a right
with no thought for revenge, or a way of life
that makes no sense

And even though it makes me sick
we're always our worst enemy
waiting to sneak on in, so, so quietly
before we pull off our next trick

How I wish our heroes would take us
Mend us and make us whole
to be all we can be
But maybe it's too late now
to change the things
our children have to see

Seeing the world in a different light
where every wrong becomes a right
with no thought for revenge, or a way of life
that makes no sense to me

How I wish our heroes
would take us mend us
and make us whole
to be all we can be
But maybe
it's too late now
to change the things
our children have to see

Seeing the world in a different light
where every wrong becomes a right
with no thought for revenge
or a way of life that makes no sense
makes no sense to me

Hope the moon is listening
I know she understands
We never meant such heartache
it was never in our plans

Just two old friends
high fiving at four am
watching shooting stars
doing their thing
we're chilling in the moment
loving everything

chilling in the moment
loving everything

Seeing the world in a different light
where every wrong becomes a right
with no thought for revenge
or a way of life that makes no sense
makes no sense
to me
