Eden’s Garden

So picture this...
You and me in the Garden of Eden
Relaxing and eating
The wonderful fruit that lay around
And even if you tire for some reason
He has prepared a place for us to lay down
In the pasture over yonder
And maybe after we ponder
What is we  know, what we want, what we need.
Feeling like without you, my blood don’t flow and I can’t quite breathe.
As we are perched high above as can be
We witness a couple, Adam and Eve, partaking of fruit from the forbidden tree.
“Aww man” you say to me
“Big G gon make they ass leave! Don’t they have enough to eat from? What greed?”
And as we sit there in disbelief as they consume their fill.
“Don’t they see,” I interject “our initials are carved there!”
“Big G better stop them or I will”
And I continue my raves and rants
See because we have already been there done that because we were the original inhabitants.

We found the tree of forbidden knowledge to bear the most beautiful fruits of truth.
So we claim it as ours which is why eating from it, they were not allowed to do.
We found that knowledge was truly amazing to consume
We thirsted for more
So whenever we needed, we would explore
The land and no matter how far apart
Our souls stayed in tune.
Unfortunately our prayers were answered
Something was done...
Our tree was destroyed, all the knowledge lost to the void
Adam and Eve kicked to the curb and us sitting there simply annoyed.
All of the sudden we hear a knock on the door
From an angel sent down to evict us
And get us out of the way.
No longer could we stay
Forced out with no where to go
Now we wander the universe tethered souls
Holding on to each other never forgetting that faithful day.
