A letter to the non-binary community

 
 
I didn't need
to see a title  
 
or press my ears
listening out for feet  
patting down stone  
upon arrival,
 
don't you see?  
 
it's laced through
each of our bones
without a single  
seam on show
 
so please, don't  
go disappearing  
too many people
try doing this for
their entire lives
 
even I tried on
a few occasions,
 
but we know better
than this don't we
dearest human?
 
this is exactly who
you were always
meant to be and
within that truly
holds everything  
 
even when we do  
our best to deny  
this way of living,
 
so be the best
human you can
possibly ever be
 
even if you believe  
nobody is watching,
 
houdini could never
have anything on you
because your skin  
is made of magic
 
because you have  
always held a space  
here my dear human.
