In a broken mind
Disheveled room
Shadows absorbing light
Where does hope lie
In forgotten promises
Disappointed loved ones
Left alone at night
Where does hope lie
In unreturned calls
And unanswered knocks
Refusing to fight
Where does hope lie
In a tub of tepid water
Needle on the floor
Searching for another high
Where does hope lie
Water a pinkish hue
Cuts to guarantee
This was the last time

Green glassy eyes
Blank stare at flickering lights
As the ambulance arrives
