I think it a shame

I think it a shame
that angels aren't chubby
with curving hips
and bouncing breasts
a soft and yielding touch

Feeling ashamed
for what men imagine
pretending to be coy
heaven forbid I flaunt
what god has given

The day is done
evening caresses an age
no longer can I be told
that my body's a sin
as love welcomes us in

Author's Note
Maybe just a short explanation for this poem, starting with a question;
- How do you think the view on women's sexuality would change, would have changed, if women wrote the bible instead of men?
- I think the androgynous look of angels in artwork is a direct result of men being unable to accept their own sexuality and their faith at the same time. Being unable to accept their own sexuality, they have perceived what triggers that as bad, un-spiritual, un-angelic. Hence, no chubby angels.
- I do hope this doesn't upset or anger anyone, my desire is only to offer new ideas.
