I love the specific dualities and language you use to depict the attitude of addiction.  It's almost an irony, because the phrases with multiple meaning(s) becomes excuse, rather than wisdom.  This is done artistically, in having known what it's like to live with the lies of addiction.  Very accurate description of mentality, though also with great creativity, in the format here.  Comes across to me as quite established familiarity with the emotions and negatively reinforcing principles an addict can become a slave to.  The worse it gets, the more you want to forget about it and do the drugs.  It eats alive all of the potential to have hope, because it's so hard to escape.  No one can truly know what that's like unless they've experienced it.  I do wonder, are you still a user, or have you become sober?  Anyway, again, good stuff.

I've been around this sort of thing for a long time. There's a lot to go into honestly.
As for sobriety I'm getting worse if anything.
I'm sober writing this so it won't be as detailed.
I will divulge more at some point if you like.
