Than That.

I've to sit here till my transport arrives.    
she said " they are busy with you old folks "    
and " they are all volunteers, those who drive,    
wait here, I'm sure I don't know how they cope."
     
"Have a pee first don't want stinky knickers      
it's bad enough bussing old folk who drool,    
where's your pension book, matron's a stickler      
for you charity folk's fees, she's no fool..."    
     
Eighty-six, has it all boiled down to this    
the council taking over my life and, flat,  
putting me in a Home where folk, exist,
I may as well be dead and gone, than that.    
     
My life taught me loads of stuff most, unplanned,  
But, didn't teach how to die, on demand.
