Heaven's Pull Grows Strong
We are chained to earth,
By our hopes, dreams, appetites,
And loved ones still here.
But the bonds weaken,
As we experience loss,
Of those we most love.
Eventually,
Heaven wins the tug of war,
As grief seeks release.
And spirit flies free,
Its chains snapped by heaven's pull,
Towards those we love.
Thus we fallen rise,
If our lives made us worthy,
By the Grace of God.
Lonely, lost no more,
Open arms awaiting us,
To welcome us home.
By our hopes, dreams, appetites,
And loved ones still here.
But the bonds weaken,
As we experience loss,
Of those we most love.
Eventually,
Heaven wins the tug of war,
As grief seeks release.
And spirit flies free,
Its chains snapped by heaven's pull,
Towards those we love.
Thus we fallen rise,
If our lives made us worthy,
By the Grace of God.
Lonely, lost no more,
Open arms awaiting us,
To welcome us home.
