Steam

What would you do if I walked into the fire?
What would you say when you saw it rise higher?
The fire does not burn,
what it recognizes as kin.
The everlasting yearn.
From the soul within.

I will wait for you, my love
You are the water to cool this flame.
Never really to douse it.
Still, it tempers it all the same.

You need the heat.
For this world that is so cold.
I need the water.
For my thirsty soul.

We do a dance.
Behind a sheet of white.
In perfect flow.
As if gliding in on a light.

It is time for you to leave.
As we had foreseen.
Until next we meet.
In the steam.
