Reflections

Thoughts ripple across gray matter of the mind      
Just as shimmering moonlight is upon the waters      
Empirical interpretations of what is always heartfelt      
Yesterday…reflections in solitude and meditation      
       
Corporeal in one moment and ethereal of the next      
Where twilight is lamentation before a resolute Sun      
Shadows gathering in the promise of another day      
Unraveling the insight of afterthoughts…still        
       
Romance will surely always follow in the Moon’s path      
Just as the hypnotic mood will be lashed to a melody      
Moonlight shines abundant upon musician and poet      
Pianist and lyricist expressing their hopes and dreams      
       
Fate is the final author and authority unto these reflections
