Stepped out from the light that blinds
Aback to my brighter night
Siphoned poison from my veins
But the nightmares always stay
I see stars I don't want to see
Some days I can't even breathe
Found sobriety, all is anew
But I never feel better
I envision a better me
It is all that I want to be
Manipulation isn't new to me
Should've had a clearer perception
Excuse negativity
Excuse false empathy
Excuse love that shouldn't be
Of those we're both guilty
Who was the bigger fool?
Selfishness was a vicious tool
And all that's left I bear
Results of your intentions

Fragmented and shattered
Maddened and tattered
How could I believe in words
From a forked tongue?
Now I'm...
Reverberating
Struggling and ailing
To exhume the pieces
Of my fractured mind
There's nothing left to say
Staunched the bleeding but the damage is done
And the scars will remain
A reminder of torment and pain
I'm not a game to play
I'm done with love and hate
If loneliness is all that's left
It'd be the lesser evil
If there's one truth left to speak
Out of countless, echoing
If there's any forgiveness I seek
It's my own
I hope I can learn to
