We are very similar in a lot of ways. I too find it very difficult to spend money on myself. Theres nothing inherently wrong with generosity. Its a good quality. It shows the kind of person you are. However, the flip side of it means that you gain more joy from doing for others than doing for yourself and most times that is not reciprocated. That ends up with us getting the shitty end of the deal in a lot of situations. As well as that generosity being taken advantage of. The more you do it, the more it becomes expected. There has to be a middle ground where we hook up other people but also remember to take care of ourselves. Not an easy thing to do. I speak from experience. I tell you these things as insight from someone way further down the road than you. It only gets harder to break habits and patterns the longer you allow them to grow. Take advantage of your youth and try to form good habits before you get as deep as I am.
