Image for the poem My Friend, Hayley

My Friend, Hayley

We could've been twins
My friend, Hayley and l
Because we both thought
So much alike regardless
Of how different we looked
on the outside
We swore
To be BFF'S  that is
Forever more

 Her words
Were never contrived
We always shared
All the secrets
That we'd kept inside
When issues arose it was
To each other we'd confide

Even when it came to men
Whenever we both fancied
The same desirous men
I deferred  to her as my friend
Always giving her first choice
And then I'd pick mine
