Carnal Crimes

Too many times
You have hijacked
My heart
Kicked it around
Torn it apart
Commiting Grand Larceny
With each new start
You trampled on
this nearly shattered heart
I don't need your attitude
It leaves me cold
Just like your
so called platitudes

There's no evidence
Left behind
Of all of your
 carnal crimes
My neediness trips
Me up each time
Leads me off course
Fills me with such
Dreadful remorse

Now, I can see clearly
Through the fog
When it comes to love
I can never hide
The real woman
That I am inside
So I choose to leave
While I still have
self pride inside

At last, I wonder
Just a few things like
Is love truth or just a lie
I tried love too many times
And each time I lose
 it seems to be
most certainly true
That I was born
So black and blue
