When does a mother lose her ability to love?

There's this idea passed around that a mother has infinite capacity to love.
She can love her kids, pets, foods, colors, experiences, and everything in life that is worth loving.

Yet no one talks about when she simply runs out.
Runs out of love.
The lake runneth dry and lay cracked beneath her feet.

Those around her watch as she has given every part of her being to love every corner of the earth.
Till she dips her hands into the waterless sand, hoping to get an ounce back.

She remains stranded in a loveless land.

Eventually, it will rain once more.
The banks will swell and the mud will be thick.

Many will drown, as their strength is depleted and they have lost all hope.

But some, some will feel the waves hit, and will swim.
Not to shore, but just to do it, as the action itself is relieving to learn that love goes hand in hand with hope.
