The Orchid Garden

A kaleidiscope of colourful things
That filled the air with splendour
Delivered to the eyes on butterfly wings
On an orchid garden meandor

There were paradise birds
And beautiful flowers
And plants that were wonderfully extreme
There were antelope herds
And weather tight bowers
And the world was a beautiful dream

As all around
I stood spellbound
With not so much as a "beg your pardon"
A sweet trilling sound
That was rarely found
Was there to see, in the orchid garden
