every now and then
the best days are days
when nothing gets done
days that are as rare and
comfortable as wearing
an old pair of shoes all
over your body
days when the coffee
is hot and the smokes
are good;
good like a blessing from
Sir Walter Raleigh
good like forgetting
the past for a few
minutes
good like remembering
the past for a few
minutes
days where all the old
wounds hurt less
days where dreams sleep
peacefully in the rainbow
fields of imagination
days where the trumpet
fanfare is clear and
bright
...and calls you to lie
beneath an orange
grove sun
so here's to
you
me
and everyone
everywhere
may the pipes
of Bacchus
call us forth
and may we
be carried on
the wings of
Jophiel
every now
and
then
