When I need a friend
Are any of you there?
When I need to be held
Do you just stand and stare?
When I need the answers
Do any of you speak?
When I’m lost in myself
Do any of you make a peep?
When I’m completely lost
Can you guide the way?
I’ve taken the wrong path
I’m filled with total dismay
When my whole body feels empty
Can you help me to feel found?
I don’t know what to do
I’m astray without you
Can you bring my feet back to the ground?

An old one, written at a time where I genuinely felt like I didn’t have a single friend… of course it simply wasn’t true, but depression can leave you feeling like this for a long time.
