Israel
His Israel has become the underside of beauty
Everything is toppled over, bleached out and gritty
Ruins, the fatherless are screaming.
Haunting Echos clang off the walls of Her city.
Israel, why are you afraid?
Israel, my dear, you've fallen, stricken by plague ..
Our nights are lengthened, your days are full of sadness and shame.
There are no more blessing’s,
Even if you were to pray.
There is no more wine, no more medicine at which to numb out your pain.
You’re arms weakened and tired
you have blown out
Every vein..
He has left you, Israel, to your own demise ..
to remain this way until you open your eyes.
For a short time, Israel, open your eyes.
Oh Israel, where are you? It's getting really late.
The path has become crooked
the daughters are crying. Was not the road straight?
Sighing, looking upon a city.
Will he take pitty upon you?
Will he sit and will he wait?
Israel, will you ever shy away from bad fate?
Bless Israel.
Yet and yet still, he waits.
