The Hermitage
As i enter the lost mountain of my mind
Searching out the caverns, i left behind
Seeking the cave, in which i once dwelt
Sighing in sadness, at a misery, long felt
I sense my extinction, slowly drawing near
Yet i can only weep, one lonely solitary tear
It kisses my face, then falls to the earth
Laden with a sadness, carried since birth
Lost in bewilderment, as to why i was born
Antiquated memories, of which i still mourn
It's been a long, long, lone distant while
Near forgotten, since the last time i smiled
Hollow chambers, and the dull echoes of regret
An empty cave, of an existence ill-met
Where-in dwell the bones, i'd rather forget
Of weeping tears, no longer wept
My bleached brittle bones, Askew upon the ground
A moth-eaten shroud, no longer profound
Staring at the ceiling, with non-seeing eyes
The hermitage, the cause of my demise
