I merely peck at chicken fingers fried,  
since having battered baby fingers tried,  
plus whether roasted, baked, or barbecued,  
each child is yet a higher protein food --  
and not one newborn screams and fights like heck  
or shits in fear when hanging by its neck.

At the slaughterhouse, chickens are hanged upside down and run through an electrically-charged pool of water intended to stun them. Many of the birds are not properly stunned, however, and their throats are slit while they are fully conscious.
