Image for the poem Reminisce

Reminisce

When my lips touched yours and I got a taste of true love's kiss,
my mind began to reminisce,
of days gone by,
those dreams I had,
the fantasies of a fairytale romance.

When I felt your breasts pressed against my chest,
and my heart, beat in sync with yours,
I remember the nights passed,
when I longed to feel the warmth of your breath,
on my neck.

When you whispered in my ears that you love me,
my knees buckled,
your voice made me weak.
Momentarily I journeyed to a place that seemed like Heaven,
because that must be what being in Heaven felt like.

When I entered your body and we became one,
entwined,
I felt like Adam in the Garden of Eden
when he opened his eyes and saw the bone of his bone,
and flesh of his flesh, personified.

You entered my life at a time when I felt lost,
unworthy of being loved,
yet yearning to be loved.
I had given up,
but when I looked into your eyes,
I realized that I've finally found what I've been searching for,
shining in your face.
