New Bonnets

I wear petticoats two by two
one is red and one is blue,
pretty shoes both buckled by gold
skip me where'er I go.

Slugs and snails and puppy dog tails
pet at me but they all fail,
they will court me where'er they can
but I'm in love with a pretty gal.

I wear petticoats two by two
one is red and one is blue,
one day I am sure we will wed
with brand new bonnets on our head.
