Flood of Clouds

I descend the hill towards the sea to find a foggy wonderland.  Low chill clouds are haunting the spectral winter trees, flooding their barren boughs with secrets of the skies. Their pale greys blanket those clamoring fingers of the cedars, spruce & firs with a mysterious calm.  This world of faded earthy beauty, this world of flighty fairies, this world of melancholy is where an echoing voice from years gone by whispers soft as the dew, “I still love you…” dropping a cool kiss on my brow before I hunker inside for warmth & light this grey December day.
On the roads, flood warnings had flickered but now, in this foggy seascape, thoughts of you alone flood my mind.
Find me, Love, in these misty wintry woods…brighten & warm me in this damp forest where creeping clouds eclipse the sun. Be my sparkle this dewy day and glimmer me with love.
