Requiem To The Fallen

The trumpet sounds of taps, the drum role, a requiem to those who have served us well, and the men before them, the night was filled with flashes, and the sounds of screaming men, and the cannons sounded as if they were a lion
But all through the night we fought like patriots our courage was our light and I thank God that he protected me with his everlasting might, my best friend gave his life to get me out alive, I thank God for liberty
People say land of the free and home of the brave, but I say land of the free because of the brave we fought to stay free, and we cried a lot
But all through the night we fought like patriots our courage was our light and I thank God that he protected me with his everlasting might, my best friend gave his life to get me out alive, I thank God for liberty
And in the morning the dawn revealed a field stained with blood but out of it came a band of brotherhood, cities laid in ruins full of smoke, but we stuck together, prayed for peace and hope
But all through the night we fought like patriots our courage was our light and I thank God that he protected me with his everlasting might, my best friend gave his life to get me out alive, I thank God for liberty
Those dirty faces of those men who have died may their courage honor, and legacy never be denied, we must not take for granted the liberties we have because without those men and women who could take a stand?
But all through the night we fought like patriots our courage was our light and I thank God that he protected me with his everlasting might, my best friend gave his life to get me out alive, I thank God for liberty
