The memories linger
of lullabies, lemonade
and another chapter

from the harem of twilight
echoing from the teapot
listening over my shoulder

from the dawn's early laughter
to wince I remember
orange zest in my cedar chest  

echoing from the teapot
Mama's homemade smile
