Wetlands' Everlasting Song

Long and hard it stands by the riverside,
In the wetlands, it wants to abide,
Vainy hardness that’s never shy,
Wet areas that won't go dry.

In the lowlands, by the stream,
Little pools, like in a dream,
Glistening under the sky,
Wet areas that won't go dry.

There's a muddy one and a clear one,
And a deep one and a near one,
And they're all soaked, don't be sly,
Wet areas that won't go dry.

And the reeds and frogs in chorus,
Celebrate the damp before us,
In the wetlands, where they lie,
Wet areas that won't go dry.

Through the rain and stormy weather,
They persist, they cling together,
In the dampness, where they vie,
Wet areas that won't go dry.

Like cattails and the willows,
Stand amidst the wetland pillows,
With a resilience, none can deny,
Wet areas that won't go dry.

They're the haven for the splashes,
Where the water softly clashes,
In a rhythm, like a lullaby,
Wet areas that won't go dry.

So let the raindrops keep their dance,
In this watery expanse,
Nature's chorus, an endless sigh,
Wet areas that won't go dry.

In the wetlands, by the side,
In the places where they bide,
Little puddles, never shy,
Wet areas that won't go dry.
