the Severed Head
my cries of anguish pierce the air
families, friends, and lovers
lay limp and strewn everywhere
and I fall to my knees
my hair whipped by the ice cold breeze
Everybody I have ever known
lay dead at my feet
the tension had grown
but I left and came back to this
the wind picks up
and I see a rolling, round stump
it lands in front of me
and I cry out in horror
wishing I didn't have to see
your severed head
your body across the road, lifeless and dead
so I close you missing eyes
and stroke your bloodied hair
so appalled by this mess
I look up at the heavens, grey and bare
Knowing I'm all alone
my heart beginning to harden like stone
I stand and smile
it is humorless and without emotion
my throat is still filled with bile
and I let the madness seep in
hunting my adversaries for miles
I know I will finally win
and this is where I take out my gun
ready to have some bloody fun...
families, friends, and lovers
lay limp and strewn everywhere
and I fall to my knees
my hair whipped by the ice cold breeze
Everybody I have ever known
lay dead at my feet
the tension had grown
but I left and came back to this
the wind picks up
and I see a rolling, round stump
it lands in front of me
and I cry out in horror
wishing I didn't have to see
