poetry is madness  
a senseless vocation  
an unanswerable exclamation  
to unsolvable question  
 
poetry is blame  
a literary shame  
to notorious fame  
doing a wordy game  
 
poetry is poverty  
a fake certainty  
a paper celebrity  
as wealth is illitracy  
 
i spent my lifetime  
chewing on rhyme  
my body parts are lame  
i lost my mind  
 
that man is poor  
a shepherd outdoors  
a tramp indoors  
mercy I implore  
 
take the word from me  
if poetry were energy
