Did you ever draft a story of forever
In rare moments when you let a dream fly free?
Did imagination ever wander
Onto gravel roads of “what if”s
in your thoughts of me?
Mine meander along quiet roads of beauty
When I place your hand in mine…
Right until they cruelly dead-end
Even when just in my mind.
In the end I see no path or redo
Where your love was always mine
I can only hope that Someday
Our stories might still rhyme
Sharing moments authored together
In time
