Image for the poem Neath the Apple Tree

Neath the Apple Tree

Full-throated ghosts poaching
on skin and flesh of belly oats
with tambourines and salt
in a stone alley of bones
and Pentecostal winds
lingering on the pins
of Gomorrah's sins
sucking hind teat
neath the apple tree,
simply dead
