The State of the World in a Nutshell
the whole world's on fire
but who'll bring the marshmallows?
social media sets the stage
for pointless debates
taking stances on things
that don't concern us
we're all part of a gang
ride or die for a broken system
as if that benefits us
we let little girls
look up to famous whores
all while never teaching them
to stand up for their own rights
and little boys can't see passed
their own ego
everyone tells them how special they are
nurturing their toxicity
mothers and fathers are failures
yet they take pride in their mistakes
and all important issues
get thrown in the trash
because what's important takes effort
and it's easier to sell our souls
to corporate greed
relishing in our luxuries
so we build a fantasy
in hopes perception is reality
and I guess
in some ways
I'm just watching the show
waiting for the grand finally
