Hey dad...
Since I was little,
You haven't been around,
Something to fill the void,
I haven't found.
But I guess,
I should thank you,
For showing me,
Exactly what not to do.
Your absence,
Made me who I am,
I look back sometimes,
And think "damn."
You're the reason,
I won't drink,
You would so much,
You couldn't think.
You're the original reason,
I had the pain to write,
You were the first,
To make me lye awake at night.
I must say,
These words are still painful,
But I'm no longer angry,
I'm thankful.
Hey dad,
Just wanted to thank you,
For all the things,
You didn't do.
You haven't been around,
Something to fill the void,
I haven't found.
But I guess,
I should thank you,
For showing me,
Exactly what not to do.
Your absence,
Made me who I am,
I look back sometimes,
And think "damn."
You're the reason,
I won't drink,
You would so much,
You couldn't think.
You're the original reason,
I had the pain to write,
You were the first,
To make me lye awake at night.
I must say,
These words are still painful,
But I'm no longer angry,
I'm thankful.
Hey dad,

For all the things,
