Take Care, Goodbye

I wish you knew how much I miss you,
But if you did it'd be like you had the last laugh.
You were my best friend turned into lover,
And I thought you were my other half.

Its crazy there was a time I'd have died for you,
And now we don't even speak.
You're still in my dreams even years later;
Goddamn, how'd you make me so weak?

You dragged me down, I made you hurt,
But I still thought you hung the moon.
I'm stuck here in mourning like you've gone to the grave,
A young ball of passion and fire gone too soon.

Sobriety looks good on you,
And you're still in my prayers.
Missing you fucking hurts,
But I'm best right here with you over there.

Take care, my love,
I hope you won't hate me always.
Maybe one day you'll look back with fondness
At our young and dumb in love ways.
