Daily Habit

not to write is to die

i take arms every day
knowing the battle cannot be won

i must fight daily
if even a small skirmish

the smallest effort to win
at end of day is victory

without writing
the world catches up tries  to sicken

each day without writing
allows toxins to accumulate

i begin to die or become crazy
writing is my booze

i stay intoxicated so i cannot be
annihilated by reality

a day without writing
is uncomfortable

two
begins withdrawal

three
tremor hallucinations

four
seizures…coma…death?

small daily dose
snorted ingested directly injected

an  hour is all it takes
to get me on my feet again
