Reflection of Lesbos

I made up to her with all my power
I charmed and wooed her with patience and tact
though I've heard unwatered wine is quicker
I made do with truffles yeah, that's a fact.

We wined and dined went to the theatre
did those moonlit walks and all that jazz
I took her home to meet my patriatea
to wow her with their titled, razzmatazz.

And when we kissed and caressed each other
our soft limbs invoking far softer sighs,
we loved each other like no other lover
seeing reflected Lesbos, in our eyes.

So it might have been on that lesbos isle
But I can't know it was long before, my time.

(  The above is my character wearing Sappho's shoes )

" patriatea" ancient Greek word equivalent to modern landed gentry
" Truffles" (mushrooms) aphrodisiac? they were considered so by those ancients.
Unwatered wine. Ancient Greeks watered down their wine. drunkenness was a no no in most circles. Sappho (so I'm told) sang simple stuff ie.straight to the point.
And she must've been born into an influential family otherwise nothing of hers would've survived imo.
