Lyric 5

My childhood was filled with a bright little girl,
She was sweet and had silly little curls.
She’d spend the evenings reading in bed,
with a book in her hand,
and the world in her head.

She’d build figures out of lego,
but she never wanted to let go,
of the One Direction fish she kept in her room,
next to a Harry Styles doll with only one shoe.

I used to skate in the car park right next to my house,
hold on to my Dad, so I wouldn’t fall down.
I’d ride around on my bike, and bruise up my knees.
We’d bake cakes and cookies.
I thought my teddies had voices, and I’d give them names.
I thought I was funny.
“I’ve got green eyebrows, by the way.”
Holding a strawberry to my nose, or playing the french horn.
It was special, that I know.

But then I grew up.
So I don’t skate anymore, and I don’t have time to bike.
I put my teddies aside, and I’m focused on what I like.
I’m busy a lot,
but that doesn’t mean I don’t want you around..
I just wanna live my own dreams.
