Dark Night of the Soul

From the darkest deepest depths of the soul,
Re-birthed, prepared, served up in a bowl.
Unless you surrender, you’ll never escape,
You’ll continue to live a life full of hate.

The tragedy, trauma, abuse, the pain,
You’ll have to relive this, again and again,
If you do not survive, the dark night of the soul,
You’ll continue the cycle, of generations old.

Strength was your forefront, you’d hidden the pain,
Now you’ve to deal with it, all over again.
Understanding is necessary, you can’t carry the burden,
You’re awakening my dear, that is for certain.

Remember you survived, the hell from your past,
Healing is necessary, the dark night won’t last.
Although for some this can take many years,
For you my dear, just get through the tears.

Release all the anger, and pain inside,
Rummage within, let nothing hide.
You will feel all alone, fragile and weak,
Surrounded by strangers, feeling defeat.

Remember this, you survived your history,
Get through the dark night, a new life you’ll see.
Change is welcome, only by the few,
Endure the change, that’s happening to you.
