Brilliant description of navigating the “love” scene. I always feel like everything hinges on the person I admire. When that doesn’t pan out I’m right back in my shell. I think your poem expressed this wonderfully. I like the repetition and image of one step forward then backward. It sure does feel like that. Great write. H🌷

People say 'put yourself out there' as if you don't notice people. However the contrary is that being 'genuine' takes away the dance of dating. So the back and forth of it all is what I tried to capture.
